On July 12 Davis College will be rocking (in rocking chairs!). Come join us as we raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project and the Davis College Foundation Scholarship Fund. Rocking starts at 6:00 AM and will continue until 6:00 PM. We will also have a rummage sale and aflag recycling station.

On March 31 Davis College will host, in conjunction with the Collegiate Employ-Net Consortium, Corporate Conversations. Students from member schools will connect with employers, learning about their companies, cultures, and career opportunities including part-time and seasonal jobs. Students will also learn about the attributes these companies look for in the people they hire. Professional dress is required.

Faculty member, Jane Pfeifer was recently presented with the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools (OACCS) 2016 Outstanding Teacher Award. President Diane Brunner presented the award to Ms. Pfeifer at the college's January faculty and staff meeting. The announcement of winning the award was first made last November at the OACCS workshop. Congratulations, Jane Pfeifer!

Career Services Director, Nick Nigro was recently presented with the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools (OACCS) 2016 Outstanding Career Services Award. Steve Gochik, receptionist for Davis College, retired this past January 2017. Steve was employed by Davis College for 21 years. Over that period Steve was the first person students and vistors would see when entering the main campus building. Steve's friendly demeanor and willingness to assist the college's popluation was a tribute to his character and loyalty. The administration, faculty, and staff wish Steve well as he enjoys his retirement.

Davis College alumna, Penka Schwalbe, received the 2016 Outstanding Alumni Award at the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools (OACCS) November workshop.
In 1997 Ms. Schwalbe arrived in the United States with two suitcases as a young 24 year old immigrant from Bulgaria. She was the first person in her family to earn a college degree receiving her Associate Degree in Business Management in 2009. She has been with Boston Market for 19 years and is the Area Manager for the three Toledo stores with close to 100 employees.
Ms. Schwalbe states, "At Davis College, I learned practical knowledge that I still use today."
